Hotwells Gateway Discussion

Hotwells Gateway is a community engagement project that we are working on with UWE Architecture Students. In response to Bristol City Council's proposals for Western Harbour, we would like to offer up a vision initiated by the communities that live here: exploring the idea that Hotwell Rd from Cumberland Basin and into the city is not just traffic route but a gateway to the city.

What do we need to make this happen?

What would a Hotwells Gateway look like to you?

Hotwells Gateway offers a chance to bring together many different community ideas & projects including Hotwells Corner, Cumberland Piazza and HCCA Traffic Strategy into a community masterplan.

Community Supper

- will include Street Champ Awards and celebration.

To book a place please visit our Calendar and click the RSVP button.

Minutes for 2022 AGM

We want to thank and celebrate all our volunteers and all the members of our community who have helped us all, especially during the difficult times of lockdown, and make this a wonderful place to live. There will be food and drink available and we will be accepting donations on behalf of the Holy Trinity & St Stephen’s Hardship Fund which helps out local people who are in urgent need.

HCCA Annual General Meeting 2021

We held our 2021 AGM on Monday 8th November at the Holy Trinity Church.

In light of Covid-19, numbers were limited and safety procedures put in place during the event.

It was the last AGM by retiring Chair Dennis Gornall.

Anna spoke about the progress and activities at the Piazza.

Richard Hancock informed everyone about the important work of Transition Hotwells, Cliftonwood and Clifton in battling climate change.

Hazel and Caroline provided an update on the work of the volunteers who have been helping in maintaining the public paths and steps around the area.

The evening was brought to an end by an enlightening presentation by Geoff Wallis on the industrial & maritime heritage around Cumberland Basin. Geoff was kind enough to share the slides from his presentation. You can check out a part of the presentation here. You can also watch a similar presentation given by Geoff at Bristol Civic Society here.
